Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding has always stood out as a singer for me and millions of other fans. Her voice is just different, and it is so raw too. This week we take a look at the artist who has been through a lot of personal issues and is also releasing her fourth album, “Brightest Blue.” I love the name.

Ellie has been through a lot with the British press. They’ve hounded her, especially to do with her relationships. But no matter what, Goulding rises above reminding us that she is a writer before she is a singer and that she “played almost every instrument on this record.” How many artists can claim the same nowadays?

Goulding describes how she is not really into all the make-up and costumes part of touring and performing. She prefers to be more real and authentic. Speaking on her album influences, she mentions listening to Kanye, Drake and The Weeknd among a few as she put together “Brightest Blue.” Recently married, she prefers to keep her new relationship out of her writing for now.

In other news this week, turn to our column by Elaine Superio where she speaks about wearing a mask while working out. The type of face mask is important as well as what exercise is being performed. Follow Elaine’s tips to stay safe while enjoying your workout.

If cooking is your thing then our Food pages have a delicious citrus marmalade recipe for you to follow. It’s not going to live up to Saleha’s amazing mango recipes from last week, but we’ve got to try!
