Diversity is the theme of the recently announced Grammy Award nominations. This week we take a look at who is nominated for the 2020 Grammy Awards which will be held at the end of January at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Seventeen-year-old Billie Eilish made history with six Grammy nominations including Record of the year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and Song of the Year. Billie is the youngest singer to ever be nominated for the Big Four Grammy Awards. She grew up listening to The Beatles, Green Day and Avril Lavigne and her sound has been compared to both Lorde and Lana Del Ray.

American singer, rapper and songwriter Lizzo has taken the music world, and the Grammy world, by storm. She is nominated for an astonishing eight awards for her sassy empowerment music. This year she achieved mainstream success with her third studio album, Cuz I Love You. Lizzo is also a huge personality on the red carpet never failing to entertain audiences.

Along with Eilish and Lizzo, Lil Nas X is another new artist turning heads after receiving six nominations. The rapper and his multi-genre hit single Old Town Road reflect a new era for the prestigious award show. The country rap single first achieved viral recognition on the sharing app TikTok at the beginning of the year.
