Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced a temporary closure of a section of Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Huwaiden Street in Al Dhaid for 3 months from Saturday, November 7, 2026, until Sunday, February 7, 2027.
The closure is part of infrastructure development works aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the road network, improving traffic safety, and ensuring smoother vehicle movement in the area.
SRTA explained that the closure coincided with development work being carried out on a specific section of the street, adding that a traffic diversion had been implemented to allow motorists to continue their journeys via an alternative route, as shown in the published traffic plan where the work zone is marked in red and the alternative diversion route in green.
The traffic plan illustrates the diversion route alongside the section affected by the closure, while also showing surrounding roads and nearby landmarks to help road users plan their journeys and select an appropriate alternative route for the duration of the project.
SRTA urged drivers and road users to take the closure period into account when planning their journeys, to abide by the approved traffic diversions and to use the alternative routes indicated in the provided plan.
Motorists are also advised to follow all directional signage and traffic safety instructions to ensure their own safety and that of other road users and to maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the duration of the work.
