Family seeks financial help to cover treatment bills of twin boys in Ras Al Khaimah

An Egyptian husband and a Palestinian wife in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), are appealing to benefactors for help after medical and healthcare bills accumulated to exceed approximately Dhs478,571 so far, following the premature birth of twin boys at the end of the seventh month, which required intensive care and urgent surgical intervention, turning the joy of expecting the happy event after 5 years of marriage into an arduous treatment journey.

The 33-year-old mother was preparing to travel on the first of this September to give birth in her husband family’s house in Egypt, but she was surprised by premature labour on Aug.26, after which she was transferred to Abdullah Bin Omran Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in RAK, where she delivered her two children before the completion of the pregnancy period.

Due to the incomplete development of some organs in one of the twins, his health condition required an urgent transfer to Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah for serious surgical intervention, while his brother's condition continued to require intensive care inside the incubator.

The family is currently unable to pay the accumulated bills resulting from the extended treatment period, given the father's limited income, as he works for a low salary in a private company, and the big amount has prevented being covered by the charities that were contacted.

The family appeals, through Al Khaleej newspaper, to people with merciful hearts, generous hands, and charitable institutions in the UAE to extend a hand of help and mercy, and to contribute to paying the costs of treatment and incubation, so that their joy may complete.

Recently, Al Khaleej newspaper published the story of Anas Mohammed Allam, affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which quickly met with a touching humanitarian response, resulting in a philanthropist's initiative to cover the remaining amount of the treatment cost, in a scene which embodies the values of mercy and solidarity that characterise Emirati society.

Anas's father expressed his overwhelming happiness at his son starting the medical tests, confirming that the family is living long-awaited moments today, and that they are preparing for a new phase filled with hope.
