Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced that the road in the direction extending from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Bu Baalian Square to Saeed Bin Obaid Al Jarwan Square, alongside Al Jazzat area, would be completely closed as part of road maintenance and infrastructure development works aimed at enhancing traffic flow and improving the efficiency of the road network.
According to SRTA’s plan, the work and closure area is marked in red on the section adjacent to Al Jazzat area, while the diversions and alternative routes are marked in green.
The plan shows the possibility of bypassing the closure area via the alternative route extending from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Baalian Square, passing through Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Street, then continuing the route marked in green around Al Jazzat area, reaching Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Street and from there completing the journey to the required destinations.
The road would be closed for three days from Wednesday, August 19, 2026, to Friday, August 21, 2026, it said, urging road users to plan their journeys in advance and abide by the traffic diversions shown on the map.
SRTA underlined the importance of following the directional signs and traffic safety instructions and using the alternative routes approved during the closure period to ensure smooth traffic flow in the work area.
