Teachers with no experience can take up jobs in Dubai private schools

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai (KHDA) stated that newly graduated teachers can join private schools even if they do not have prior experience, provided they complete practical training of at least 6 months under the supervision of a qualified and experienced teacher, with the school's commitment to preparing a mentorship and guidance plan to ensure their professional qualification according to approved standards.

The KHDA affirmed, within the technical guide for appointing educational staff members in private schools, that university qualifications related to the school subject are acceptable even if they do not match it completely. Holders of engineering degrees or applied specialisations can teach mathematics or physics whenever their qualifications are proved to be compatible with the curriculum requirements, and the pedagogical or practical training requirements are met, KHDA explained.

The KHDA emphasised that the minimum educational qualification for new teachers is a bachelor's degree, with the exception of those working with children under 36 months, while the qualification requirements are needed for new teachers and those moving between schools, whereas teachers continuing in their current schools were granted a deadline to complete the required qualifications, until September 1, 2028, while it is extended to April 1, 2029 for schools beginning the academic year in April.
