Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) stated that the violation of not installing a lightning conductor device in buildings and facilities falls under the general violations category, and a fine of up to Dhs5,000 is imposed for it.
The ADCDA clarified that this measure is based on Cabinet Resolution No. 24 of 2012 regarding the regulation of civil defence services in the UAE, which aims to enhance safety standards and risk prevention, especially those related to weather conditions such as lightning.
Lightning conductor device is one of the basic requirements for protecting buildings and their occupants from potential damage, ADCDA indicated, noting that the application of this violation includes all existing or under-construction buildings and facilities within the UAE, with the exception of private independent residential houses and homes.
ADCDA called on building and facility owners to adhere to the approved safety requirements and take the necessary measures to avoid violations, thereby contributing to fostering a safe environment and protecting lives and property.
