Sharjah Misdemeanour Court heard a case of assault on an Asian national by his roommate, after he asked him to lower the noise he made at night.
The details of the incident date back to a time when the plaintiff was trying to rest inside the accommodation, but he was unable to due to the noise coming from his roommate.
He allegedly approached him, asking him to be quiet and stop making noise, whereupon his roommate assaulted him using a chair in front of several witnesses inside the accommodation.
The assault resulted in injuries to the victim's head and various parts of his body, which necessitated taking legal action and referring the incident to the court.
When confronted by the court with the charge of assaulting his roommate and causing him bodily injuries, the accused denied what was attributed to him, asserting that what happened between them was nothing more than an ordinary dispute.
