The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has warned against vehicles making disturbing noises that cause anxiety among residents, stressing that offenders will be held legally accountable.
“The Ministry of Interior notes that vehicles producing disturbing noises cause annoyance and anxiety to residents and offenders will be held legally accountable,” the MoI said via its account on X platform.
“Making unauthorized modifications to the vehicle engine or chassis is regarded as a traffic violation,” it added.
As a result of this traffic violation, offenders will be slapped with a Dhs1,000 fine and 12 black points and their vehicles will be impounded for 30 days, it said.
This is in line with Article 73 of the Schedule of Violations stipulated in Ministerial Resolution no. 178 for 2017 on traffic control procedures and rules, it added.
