Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court obligated a man to pay a woman Dhs13,000 in a case where he borrowed Dhs51,000 and did not return it.
Earlier, a woman filed a lawsuit against a man in which she requested the court to obligate him to pay her Dhs51,000 plus the incurred fees and expenses, pleading that she had lent him Dhs19,500 in cash and transferred a total of Dhs31,500 to him.
When she demanded that he return the borrowed amount, however, he refused to do so without any legal justification. The plaintiff submitted as evidence for her claim copies of telephone correspondence and copies of financial transfers.
The case was referred to the supervising judge, who decided to appoint an accounting expert from the list of experts registered with Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, who concluded that the amount that the defendant owed to the woman was Dhs13,000.
The woman in the case was demanding that the defendant pay her the amount claimed based on the fact that he owed her this amount. The court, however, was satisfied with the report of the expert appointed in the case, which concluded that the amount due to the woman was Dhs13,000.
Therefore, it is established for the court that the defendant owed the woman only Dhs13,000 of the total amount claimed, which was why the court ordered the defendant to pay Dhs13,000 to the woman.
