The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) continues its efforts to develop and upgrade the street lighting network as part of its strategic plan to improve infrastructure and enhance lighting efficiency in the emirate.
In 2025, as many as 4,359 lighting poles were installed and 35,166 maintenance operations were carried out on existing street lighting assets, while the street lighting network was extended by a total length of 215,834 metres. Work also continues on other vital projects currently underway.
SEWA is continuing to implement its plan to illuminate all areas according to the best specifications, choosing the appropriate type of lighting for each area, with different lengths of poles and innovative designs to provide security and safety for road users, said Eng. Ahmed Al Bas, Deputy Director of Electricity Distribution Department.
