Al Dhafra Municipality called on members of the society and visitors to public places to abide by the regulations and instructions related to camping and holding events in public places, noting that fines for committing this type of violations are doubled if repeated in line with the regulations and laws for preserving public appearance.
A fine of Dhs10,000 for the first time would be imposed for holding, managing or promoting an event or camping in public places without prior authorisation from the relevant municipality, Dhs15,000 for the second time and Dhs20,000 for the third time, it added.
Holding, managing or promoting an event, camping in public places with an expired licence and failing to comply with the licence terms would incur a fine of Dhs3,000 for the first time, Dhs5,000 for the second time and Dhs7,000 for the third time, it said.
Public nuisance violations are classified into 11 types and include entering places designated solely for one gender or families with the exception of children under seven and illegally reserving facilities or seats in public places designated for the elderly, people of determination or any other categories according to applicable legislation, it added.
They also include distributing, placing, or sticking any printed or written materials for any purpose in public places, on parked vehicles, poles, or other places, bathing or washing animals or any personal belongings in non-designed places and using any radio or loudspeaker in public places, it said.
Other violations include making any noise, using laser lights, stirring up dust in a way that causes annoyance or anxiety in public places and releasing any offensive or dangerous substances in public places as well as relieving oneself in non-designated places and spitting out naswar or the like in public places, it added. Each of these violations would incur a fine of Dhs1,000 for the first time, Dhs2,000 for the second time and Dhs4,000 the third time, it said.
Spitting or blowing nasal secretions in public places, standing or sitting on sidewalks, pedestrian crossings and entrances to corridors, facilities, shops, public services or emergency exits in a way that obstructs the freedom of movement and smoking in non-designed places are other types of violations, it added.
A fine of Dhs500 for the first time, Dhs1,000 for the second time and Dhs2,000 for the third time would be imposed on these violations, it said.
