Ultra-low-cost carrier Wizz Air has reopened bookings for its upcoming flight services to Abu Dhabi, with operations scheduled to begin next month.
According to the airline’s official website, the first routes connecting Katowice and Krakow in Poland to the UAE capital will commence on November 20, 2025, with fares starting from just 309 Polish Zloty (approximately Dhs312).
The move comes months after Wizz Air Abu Dhabi—the airline’s UAE-based joint venture—halted operations on September 1, 2025, as part of a broader strategic realignment. The carrier had cited the regional geopolitical environment, regulatory hurdles, and intensified competition within the budget travel sector as key factors behind its withdrawal.
Wizz Air operates a fleet of 195 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
In a statement previously published on the London Stock Exchange, Wizz Air said, “As part of this strategic realignment, Wizz Air will suspend all locally based flight operations effective September 1, 2025, and intends to exit the joint venture, focusing instead on its core European markets.”
Reflecting on the decision, József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, expressed appreciation for the company’s regional experience, “We have had a tremendous journey in the Middle East and are proud of what we have built. I thank our highly dedicated employees for their relentless efforts and commitment to developing the WIZZ brand in new and dynamic markets.”
In addition to the Poland routes, Wizz Air has also listed new connections to Abu Dhabi from Bucharest (starting November 30, 2025), Budapest (December 1, 2025), and Larnaca (December 14, 2025).
“These are among the most affordable last-minute fares to Abu Dhabi available online,” the airline highlighted on its website.
