Rain and hail fell on separate areas across Dubai including Margham on Wednesday and are expected to continue today and tomorrow as a result of the country being affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an extension of a weak low-pressure system in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) urged people to follow safety measures during rainy weather, calling on them to drive safely when using a vehicle out of necessity, take caution when interacting with other road users and ensure that the vehicle’s headlights are left on in limited visibility conditions.
It also called on them to track the latest weather developments through the media and official channels, get prepared to implement the instructions issued by the competent authorities and avoid spreading rumours.
Today’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with a chance for some cumulus clouds to form in the east and south and to extend to some inland areas, accompanied by rains. The weather, however, will be humid at night and on Friday’s morning in some western coastal areas.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active, strong and dust-stirring at times at 10 to 25 and up to 45 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Friday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy with a chance for some cumulus clouds to form in the east and south, accompanied by rains. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active and dust-stirring at times at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Saturday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy and cloudy in the north and east but will be humid at night and on Sunday morning in some coastal areas. Light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Sunday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times but will be humid at night and on Monday morning in some coastal and inland areas. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
