Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) carried out 4,322 field inspections on domestic gas distribution activities between 2023, 2024, and the first six months of 2025.
During these inspections, 1,098 violations were recorded through joint campaigns organised by the Petroleum Products Trading Regulatory Committee, in collaboration with 15 relevant entities in Dubai.
Saeed Al Ramsi,, Director of Licensing Activities Monitoring at RTA’s Licensing Agency emphasised that domestic gas distribution is a critical activity directly impacting the environment and public health and safety.
"So, it necessitates strict oversight to ensure vehicles comply with operational requirements and to detect counterfeit or untraceable gas cylinders, thereby preventing potential hazards.
Al Ramsi stated that the campaigns targeted multiple areas across the emirate and inspectors seized counterfeit and untraceable gas cylinders, and identified vehicles engaged in unauthorised transportation and rental activities."
"Approximately 170 violating vehicles were impounded during this period," he added.
Al Ramsi urged all establishments involved in domestic gas distribution to strictly adhere to approved regulations and use licensed vehicles for their operations.
Al Ramsi stressed that RTA will continue to conduct rigorous inspections and take legal action against violators to enhance the safety of Dubai’s residents and ensure high-quality services for the public.
