Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, announced the launch of the Smart Police Station (SPS) in the Dragon Mart.
This pioneering model is an inspiration to governments around the world, demonstrating how to prepare for the future of policing, while also consolidating security and safety for present and future generations.
It does this by harnessing future technology and data to enhance digital readiness and improve quality of life.
He added that the new station is part of a network of smart ones located across the emirate.
This brings the total number of stations offering services without human intervention to 27, enabling community members to complete various Dubai Police transactions digitally in a manner similar to that offered by traditional stations. Digital transactions have achieved an adoption rate of 89.6% compared to other channels.
Al Razooqi explained that the smart police station offers 45 diverse services, including criminal and traffic services, certificates and permits, as well as community services.
These services are provided in accordance with the best international police practices. Services are provided in seven languages: Arabic, English, Spanish, French, German, Russian and Chinese. This reflects the cosmopolitan nature of Dubai and makes it easier for the public to complete transactions.
He pointed out that opening the smart stations aligns with the government's efforts to establish a forward-thinking, smart government and transform Dubai into the world's smartest city.
This is in line with the UAE's artificial intelligence strategy, which aims to integrate modern technological tools into the government's work system, address rapid changes and improve overall performance.
He further noted that, under the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Dubai Police are proceeding with the rollout of smart station across various commercial and residential areas, given their proven success in providing police services without human intervention.
It was observed that smart stations have demonstrated a proven capacity to effectively respond to a range of variables, emergencies and crises. This has led to a number of police commanders worldwide adopting this approach and implementing it within their respective jurisdictions.
Al Razooqi emphasised that these stations have achieved 100% digital sustainability by adopting paperless working methods, using artificial intelligence technologies and enabling remote working. This has resulted in savings of Dhs60 million and a 97% reduction in energy consumption. It has also reduced carbon emissions by over 260 tonnes per centre per year, totalling 5,800 tonnes across all smart stations.
