Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest edifice, was emblazoned with the colours of Pakistan on Thursday to celebrate country’s Independence Day on Aug.14.

The Pakistan community residing in the UAE and all over the world have attended celebrations to mark the country’s 78th Independence Day with national zeal.
The official ceremonies in the UAE were held in the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai and attended by a large number of Pakistani community members, along with their families.
Meanwhile, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, dispatched similar messages to President Zardari and to Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the occasion.
Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan Ambassador in the UAE, while addressing the gathering in Abu Dhabi congratulated the community on the auspicious occasion.
He underscored the guiding principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline as the foundation for Pakistan’s continued socio-economic progress, and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity, and stability of the beloved homeland.
