The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects temperatures to continue rising in August, similar to July, due to the ongoing impact of the Indian seasonal low-pressure system and thermal lows from the southwest.
The NCM explained that the eastern mountains and high daytime temperatures in August will contribute to the formation of cumulus clouds accompanied by rainfall, which may extend to some inland areas. Additionally, parts of the country, especially during the first half of August, will be affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which is also associated with occasional rainy clouds.

The NCM added that during August, the country will be influenced by southeasterly winds at night and in the morning, and northerly winds during the day, and southerly winds which will be active and stirring dust particularly in the morning. Northeasterly winds will also occasionally become active, the NCM added.
Relative humidity will increase slightly in August compared to July, especially in the second half of the month, with higher levels in the morning and evening, according to the NCM, with an average relative humidity of 47%.
The average temperature in August is expected to range between 34.7°C and 36.5°C, with highs between 40.9°C and 43.2°C, and lows between 29.3°C and 31°C. The highest temperature ever recorded in August was 51.4°C in Muzairaa in 2017, while the lowest was 16.1°C on Jebel Mebrah in 2013.
The average wind speed is expected to be 12 km/h, with the highest wind gust recorded at 127.8 km/h in Al Hayer in 2023. Regarding fog, 2018 saw the highest frequency of fog in recent years, with 15 days of fog and one day of light fog. The highest rainfall recorded in August was 100.4 mm in Hameem in 2013.
