Sultan defrays Dhs24,000 monthly treatment costs for cancer-stricken University of Sharjah student

 His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the concerned department to cover the monthly cancer treatment costs of a student at the University of Sharjah, which amount to Dhs24,000, until her full recovery.

 His Highness also directed the Human Resources Department to grant a female citizen maternity leave from the date of delivery, to enable her to care for her infant.

 Two callers to the 'Direct Line' programme, broadcast on the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority with media personality Mohammed Al Raisi, responded generously.

 In a phone call to the programme, student Nesma recounted that she has a scholarship at the University of Sharjah and is currently in her fourth year studying sociology, achieving excellent grades. However, she has cancer and her monthly treatment costs Dhs24,000.
