Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has called on transport operators to comply with the regulations governing all modes of passenger transport, including chartered buses, tourist transport, and international bus services.
RTA also urged operators to support its efforts in delivering services befitting the city’s residents, visitors, and tourists arriving from around the world.
This call followed the completion of 15,575 inspection operations conducted by RTA’s field teams, targeting operators of chartered, tourist, and international transport services.
These inspections are part of ongoing field campaigns that underscore the Authority’s commitment to streamlining daily operations across the passenger transport sector.
Saeed Al Balooshi, Director of Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said: “The inspection operations covered safety aspects on board buses operating in the chartered, tourist, and international transport sectors, as well as the verification of the licences required in these fields."
"These inspections are not solely aimed at issuing violations; rather, they are intended to improve the quality of services provided and to encourage operators to comply with the rules and regulations governing the passenger transport sector in the Emirate of Dubai. The goal is to ensure the continuity of these services in a manner that meets the needs of the public and reinforces the reputation of both RTA and the Emirate of Dubai in this sector," Al Balooshi said.
“The inspection operations were conducted in coordination with other relevant entities, including the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Hatta Border Post) and Dubai Police, to curb irregular practices associated with the use of these transport services.”
He noted that the inspections were conducted in coordination with key government entities, including the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (Hatta Border Post) and Dubai Police, to address irregular practices in the use of these transport services.
Al Balooshi added: “We are committed to enhancing the effectiveness of our inspection operations by harnessing the latest technological innovations. “This includes comparing inspection activities with recorded violations and evaluating the positive outcomes of inspection and enforcement campaigns. These efforts play a vital role in curbing violations and irregular practices, thereby contributing to the overall enhancement of service standards.”
