Dubai suspends 2 engineering consultancy offices for six months for violating regulations

Dubai Municipality has announced the decision of the Professional Registration and Licensing Committee to impose a six-month suspension on the operations of two engineering consulting offices.

The decision also entails a prohibition on the licensing of new projects by these offices for the duration of the suspension.

This decision follows the identification of professional practices that appear to be in contravention of established regulations, approved requirements and professional ethics.

These practices have the potential to have a detrimental effect on the interests of owners and developers.

This decision is part of Dubai Municipality's mandate to regulate the practice of engineering consultancy and to ensure the quality of work.

In addition, Dubai Municipality has unveiled a novel initiative to modernise the standards of the "Contracting Companies and Engineering Offices Evaluation System."

This initiative entails the incorporation of a comprehensive set of criteria and indicators, facilitating a precise and thorough evaluation of the performance of these entities.
