Dubai Civil Defence teams successfully contained a fire in a building in Marina area with no injuries reported. Smoke is still seen at the site due to ongoing cooling operations, which are part of standard firefighting procedures. The Civil Defence teams fully extinguished the fire within 6 hours in the 67-storey building, ensuring the safety of all 3,820 residents who were evacuated unharmed.
Relevant authorities are coordinating with the building’s developer to provide temporary housing for affected residents, prioritising their safety and well-being.
Ambulance teams and medical personnel were rushed to the scene to offer comprehensive health and psychological support to all evacuated residents.
On the other hand, the Dubai Police, represented by Al Barsha Police Station, recently organized a community open meeting as part of the Force's ‘Your Voice is Heard’ initiative. This initiative aims to enhance communication and establish direct engagement channels, allowing citizens, residents, and partners within the station's jurisdiction to share their feedback and suggestions.
The meeting, held at the station, was attended by Colonel Yousef bin Qiba, Deputy Director of Al Barsha Police Station, along with several senior officers, officials, citizens, residents, and partners within the station's jurisdiction.
At the start of the meeting, Colonel Yousef bin Qiba delivered a speech, stating: "This gathering reflects our leadership's commitment to effective and constructive direct communication with our customers, ensuring the quality of the services we provide."
He emphasized that Dubai Police considers community feedback and suggestions and actively follows up on them. He also highlighted that police stations are always open and ready to engage with everyone, which helps reduce bureaucracy and improve efficiency, quality, and flexibility in government operations.
