The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has inaugurated a new branch for vehicle driving education and driver training and licensing services, to serve residents of Hatta and its surrounding areas.
This initiative aligns with RTA’s strategy to strengthen partnerships with the private sector, in collaboration with the Emirates Driving Institute, as stated by Ahmed Mahboob, Executive Director of the Licensing Agency at RTA.
Mahboob explained that the opening of the new branch in Hatta stems from RTA’s commitment to meet the needs of the area’s residents, alleviating the burden of going to Dubai or other emirates to get these services.
He further mentioned that the new branch, established in partnership with the Emirates Driving Institute, is part of RTA’s efforts to fulfill the requirements of Hatta residents.
The branch has commenced operations, offering services such as opening traffic files, training, theoretical and practical testing, and issuing driving licences for motorcycles and light vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions.
The institute operates from Sunday to Friday, from 8:15am to 11:00pm, with a prayer break on Fridays from 12:30pm to 2:30pm and a daily break from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Saturdays are allocated to registration only, from 11:00am to 8:00pm.
Recently, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and enhance mobility across various areas of Dubai, the RTA announced the completion of road improvement works on the approaches to the Hatta Souq Roundabout.
The project serves RTA’s objectives to improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, and enhance road safety for all users, ultimately contributing to a seamless mobility experience for residents and visitors accessing key destinations in Hatta.
