More than 85 million passengers have passed through Dubai Airport (both arrivals and departures) since the beginning of 2024 until the end of April, according to Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA). Of these, 33 million travellers utilised smart gates as part of a seamless travel experience.
DGRFA stated that in 2023, the total travelers amounted to 63,379,000, and smart gate users reached 25,000,000. While from January to April 2024, the total number of travelers reached 22,785,000, 8,800,000 of them used the Smart gate. Al Marri praised the GDRFA employees for their adaptability, innovation, and dedication to providing effective solutions.
He highlighted their role in ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers, adhering to the highest global standards. Their efforts aim to make Dubai's ports of entry a harmonious meeting point for global cultures, he said.
