Dubai Misdemeanour Court fined a Gulf national Dhs5,000 after convicting him of reckless driving and performing dangerous stunts in the middle of the road, endangering his life and the lives of others, while disregarding traffic rules and regulations in the UAE.
The incident dates back to December 2024 when a security team in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai, spotted a Land Cruiser being driven at high speed in the middle of the road without a number plate.
The driver was performing dangerous stunts, posing a direct threat to pedestrians and other vehicles.
A police man testified in the interrogations that he stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver had intentionally removed the number plates.
Additionally, the driver did not possess a valid driving licence and had driven the vehicle without the owner's permission, in clear violation of the law.
During the court hearing, which the suspect attended, he admitted to the charges, and pleaded for leniency from the court.
