The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA), on Monday, unveiled the installation of smart automatic gates on the Dubai-Hatta Road and a number of main roads in desert areas.
In a statement published by the RTA via its accounts on social media platform, it said, “In line with our commitment to enhancing road safety, the RTA has installed smart electronic gates on main roads in desert areas like Dubai - Hatta to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent stray animals from crossing onto the road.”
The RTA added, “As part of our future development plans, RTA will continue installing additional gates across various areas in 2025, maintaining the highest standards of road safety.”
On the other hand, the RTA is undertaking a project to construct 16.5 km of internal roads in Al Awir 1, in line with the leadership direction to enhance infrastructure in residential areas to support Dubai's urban and demographic growth while promoting residents' well-being and happiness
The project aims to better serve residents by providing an additional entrance from Emirates Road, along with intersections and roundabouts to improve accessibility and reduce travel time.
The project also includes adding a lane to Emirates Road, extending from the entrance of Al Awir 1 to Sharjah, increasing the road's capacity by up to 16 percent.
