The UAE Embassy in London, on Wednesday revealed that as of February 1, 2024 Emiratis wanting to visit the UK would now be exempted from requiring a pre-entry visa, as they would be eligible for the new ‘Electronic Travel Authorisation’ (ETA) scheme.

“This step represents a beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between the UAE and UK,” Mansoor Abulhoul, the UAE’s Ambassador to the UK said.

“This new process streamlines travel between the UAE and UK, offering speed, enhanced accessibility and affordability,” Abulhoul added. He continued, “This is a significant milestone for both of our nations.

It is the result of four years of collaborative effort, and a symbol of our commitment to strengthening the already deep ties between the UAE and the UK.”

He also explained that the Emiratis willing to travel to the UK, can apply from February 1st via the ‘UK ETA’ app or on GOV.UK to get entry permit, which allows travel for an unlimited number of times for a period of two years for just £10.
