One dead and 3 injured in Karama building fire in Dubai
Fire tenders arrive at the site of the blaze in Dubai.
A man was killed and three others were injured in a fire that had erupted in Al Karama area in Dubai before the civil defence teams brought it under control.
The Dubai Civil Defence’s operations room received a report at 12:17 on Wednesday stating that a fire had erupted in Al Karama area.
Al Karama Fire Station rushed to the fire scene and arrived there at 12:20, recording a response time of three minutes. It was found that a fire had broken out on the third floor of a building. Port Said Fire Station also rushed to the fire scene for support.
The specialized teams began evacuation and firefighting operations until the fire was brought under control at 12:40.
As a result of the fire, three people sustained moderate injuries, while another was seriously injured and later succumbed to his injuries after he was transferred to the hospital.
After the dousing operations had been completed, the fire scene was handed over to the competent authorities in line with the procedures in force.
