UAE Minister Olama among TIME’s 100 most influential figures in Artificial Intelligence

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has affirmed that the UAE’s youth are the most important resources with which the country can compete with the world.

He stressed that he is proud of every Emirati of achievement, who helps promote his country worldwide through his excellence, diligence and contributions.

Sheikh Mohammed tweeted: “Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, the first minister of artificial intelligence in the world, is in TIME Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential figures in artificial intelligence globally. I am proud of every Emirati of achievement who helps promote his country worldwide with his excellence, diligence and contributions. Our youth are our most important resources for competing with the world.”



Omar Al Olama, Minister of Artificial Intelligence, was among the most important shapers of the artificial intelligence scene in the world, according to a recent classification issued by the American Time Magazine of the world’s 100 most influential figures in artificial intelligence. The list includes a group of influential figures in the Internet sector, artificial intelligence, among whom are Elon Musk, CEO of XAI, Robin Li, CEO of Baidu, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, among others.

The magazine said that in 2017, Al Olama became the first minister of artificial intelligence in the world.

The 33-year-old minister explained: “You must have someone to oversee and apply artificial intelligence at all levels of government with a holistic view and ensure that there is at least some kind of co-ordination among all bodies.”
