The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Asian man and woman to three months in jail to be followed by deportation and fined the Asian man Dhs100,000 after being convicted of luring and assaulting an Asian and stealing Dhs1,000 from his wallet in collaboration with others who are still at large.

The case dated back to last July when an Asian reported to the police that he had been assaulted and robbed by a number of people.

The victim stated that he received a call from a woman he had met during a visit to a suspicious massage centre in England Cluster, Dubai International City, adding that she demanded that they meet near her workplace.

The victim stated in the interrogations that he arrived at the place as agreed but found the woman with a man and others, adding that they assaulted him and locked him up for two hours before demanding him to pay Dhs10,000 to release him.

He told them that he did not have the requested money and gave them Dhs1,000 but promised that he would pay more Dhs2,000 so they let him leave but he later informed the police accordingly.

A policeman stated in the interrogations that a team of detectives managed to arrest the defendants. On interrogation, the woman admitted that she was working with a number of Asian women as prostitutes in a massage centre managed by the first defendant in Dubai International City.

She also admitted that she lured the victim, who she met one day before the incident when he visited the massage centre where he was offered indecent services. She added that she came to the UAE on a visit visa around a year ago and her residence visa had expired long ago but she did not leave the country and worked in the suspicious massage centre.

The first defendant confessed to having assaulted the victim in collaboration with others and to having stolen the Dhs1,000 that was in his possession. He also admitted that he was running the suspicious massage centre.
