The global travel data provider OAG found that Dubai International Airport was the busiest airport for international flights in July 2023, with 4.9 million seats.

The company's website said, "The airport has a 19% increase in international seat capacity than London's Heathrow Airport, which came in second place with a seat capacity of 4.1 million seats."

According to the company's statistics, the number of daily seats at Dubai Airport increased by 2% compared to last month, while it increased at Heathrow Airport by 1%. Amsterdam Airport, which ranked third, added 3% more seats per day compared to last month.

The biggest increase in seat capacity this month came at London Gatwick for the Europena capacity with 710,263, which represents 9% more seats per day compared to last month.

Both Doha Airport, which ranked eighth, and Incheon in Seoul, which ranked ninth, added 7% more seats per day compared to last month.

In April, Dubai Airports, the operator of Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC), has been awarded two prestigious international safety awards.

The operator was granted a “Silver” Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, UK (RoSPA) award, and the International Safety Award 2023 with “merit” status by the British Safety Council.

The two honours were granted in recognition of Dubai Airport’s commitment to health and safety excellence, as well as the effectiveness and robustness of its Health and Safety management system in 2022.
