The Dubai Police have arrested an Asian plastic surgeon for defrauding a number of women of sums of money before fleeing the country.

The Dubai-resident surgeon reportedly received the money on the pretext of performing plastic surgeries to those women, but he then dodged performing the operations.

It was also said that he tempted those women through offering a 50 percent cut on the surgery charges, which he asked them to transfer to his personal bank account.

The accused was arrested after a number of woman had filed a complaint with the Bur Dubai Police Station against a plastic surgeon, accusing him of fraud, Brigadier Abdullah Khadem Sorour, Director of the Bur Dubai Police Station said.

“A competent security team was formed, following verification of information, which confirmed that the suspect had received money through his bank account from the complainants in return for performing plastic surgery to them,” Brigadier Sorour added.

He also explained that the women knew about the surgeon through advertisements on social media platforms.

The investigation team also knew that the surgeon is wanted in his homeland, he added.

Despite the precaution in all his movements in order to avoid arrest, the security teams at the Dubai Police were on the lookout for him, as they arrested him while he was trying to flee the country.
