Air travel has traditionally been hassle-free and a sober affair, giving you the best in comfort or luxury. But, sadly, human beings are not the same: in a good number of instances, they latch on to liquor for dear life and vent the consequences of their addiction on others.

In short, they have taken their rowdiness to the skies.

Cases of passengers relieving themselves on co-travellers, abusing the crew or even assaulting them have become the new normal.

In a new development, a passenger shed all norms of decency on board an Air India flight from Delhi to London. Off-kilter, he misbehaved with cabin crew members and even beat them up, according to Indo-Asian News Service.

The pilot in command had no other option but to steer the aircraft back to Delhi airport. A first information report (FIR) has been filed against the passenger.

Officials said that the accused person continued to create a scene even after verbal and written warnings. Last week, a drunk flyer on a flight from Delhi to Bengaluru tried to open the flap of the emergency doors.

During the end of March, two passengers travelling from a Middle Eastern city to Mumbai continued consuming alcohol onboard despite multiple warnings from the crew. They verbally abused the crew and co-passengers.
