Ras Al Khaimah Police arrest truck driver within 4 hours who killed an Arab man and fled the scene

The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, represented by the Investigation and Traffic Control Department of the Traffic and Patrols Department, succeeded in apprehending a truck driver of Asian nationality who ran over an Arab national on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road at dawn on Saturday.

The driver fled from the scene but was caught within 4 hours.

Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Sam Al-Naqbi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al-Khaimah Police, said, The details of the accident, which occurred at 3:55 am on Saturday, began with the operations room receiving a report that an Arab person had been run over by a truck and its driver fled the scene.

He added that police patrols and national ambulances rushed to the site of the accident, and it was found that the deceased stopped his truck on the side of the road and got out of it.

Another truck driven by the Asian driver hit the parked truck that rolled towards the Arab driver killing him on the spot.

The culprit fled the scene.

The body of the deceased was taken to the hospital, and immediately a team was formed from the Investigation and Traffic Control Department, which used the security cameras along the street to catch the driver.

Brigadier General Al Naqbi indicated that the search and investigation team was able to locate the truck in Sharjah.

The police coordinated with the competent authorities in the Sharjah Police General Command to arrest the driver.

They captured the driver and referred him to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against him.
