Mohamed Bin Zayed orders $3 million grant to reconstruct 'Huwara' town in Palestine

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has directed that $3 million be allocated to support the reconstruction of town of “Huwara” in Palestine and those affected by recent events in the town.

The initiative, which is part of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, will be carried out by the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Emirati-Palestinian Friendship Club.

Accordingly, the Department held a meeting to discuss the mechanism for carrying out the initiative in the presence of Mohammad Ali Al Shurafa, Chairman of the Department, and the Palestinian delegation, which comprised Mueen Dumaidi, Head of Hawara Municipality, Jalal Odeh, Mohammad Abdulhamid, members of the Municipal Council, and Ammar Al Kurd, President of the Emirati-Palestinian Friendship Club.

The meeting discussed the ways to enhance prospects for cooperation in the field of municipal work between the two sides. Al Shurafa and the Palestinian delegation affirmed interest of the UAE's leadership in supporting the Palestinian people, and contributing to the reconstruction of town of “Huwara”.
