Possessions over Dhs60,000 must be declared by UAE travellers at all ports

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) called on all passengers arriving in or travelling from the country to declare the cash amounts and precious metals and stones of value in their possession, which exceed Dhs60,000 or any other equivalent amount.
In accordance with the UAE’s disclosure system for cash, each member of a family above 18 years old is entitled to possess an amount not exceeding Dhs60,000 or any other equivalent amount of currencies or precious metals or stones of the same value while traveling in or traveling from the UAE without disclosing it to the official authorities.
However, any the amount that exceeds the aforementioned value in possession of any inbound or outbound passengers must be disclosed at the ports of the country.
While any passenger whose age is less than 18 years old, should not be allowed to carry the amounts exceeding the aforementioned limit, and the amounts in his/her possession shall be added to the allowed limit of his/her legal guardian if he/she accompanies him/her, the ICP added.
Earlier, the ICP launched hassle-free procedures for cash disclosure for UAE travellers through an electronic system to enable them to disclose the cash which they are intending to carry with them while traveling to or from the country before traveling.
The disclosure system determines the penalties for those who fail to abide by the rules, whereby a customs fine is imposed in accordance with the unified customs law.
