British singer ‘Seal’ to perform at Al Majaz Amphitheatre

Fans of popular Western music have a real treat in store as the Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah gets all set to host the iconic British singer and songwriter Seal Henry Samuel in a much awaited concert on Saturday, March 11.

The international singer and songwriter with a career spanning more than 30 years and more than 20 million records sold around the world is best known for iconic songs such as “Kiss from a Rose” which featured in the 1995 hit movie, Batman Forever. His contribution and immense popularity make ‘Seal’ a dazzling star who has dominated the Western musical scene for more than three decades.

Al Majaz Amphitheatre, affiliated to the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, is hosting the renowned international singer and songwriter as part of its efforts to promote appreciation of arts in the Emirate and exchange of cultural and artistic diversity from across the region and beyond.

‘Seal’ is known for his enormous musical range and successful career that includes experimenting with a variety of genres and styles in the world of Western music.

His records include several hits such as “Crazy” and “Killer”, which both hit number one spot in the UK charts, along with his most famous song, “Kiss from a Rose”.

The artist has won numerous awards and accolades including four coveted Grammy Awards. He won three Brit awards at once held in London in 1992, which is a record on its own.

‘Seal’ is also known for his appearances on various talent shows in Europe, America and Australia; He was one of the four “Voice Coaches” in Seasons 1 and 2 of the Australian version of the reality singing competition, The Voice. Both times his apprentices went on to win the contest.

Earlier, the National Arab Orchestra from the United States presented a grand spectacle of authentic Arab music and lyrical heritage on Friday and Saturday evenings at Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah wowing a full house of music aficionados.

The distinctive voices of leading Arab singers and Arab American artists and performers recreated the magic of traditional Arabic music as well as the modern spirit of the era.
