Dubai Civil Defence team douses Festival City fire in record time

The Dubai Civil Defence officers extinguish the fire at Festival City in Dubai.

The Dubai Civil Defence teams were able to put out a fire that erupted at the Dubai Festival City Mall on Monday evening.

The operations room was alerted about the fire at 7:28pm, so instantly a firefighting team was dispatched from the Al Rashideya Civil Defence Station to the location of the fire.

In six minutes, the teams arrived at the scene and started dealing with the fire that was in the façade of the building.

The competent teams immediately began evacuation and firefighting operations, according to the field commander, who confirmed that the accident was under control.

The cooling operation started at 7:42 pm, and at 8:09 am the field commander confirmed that the fire had been competed extinguished with no injures.

The competent authorities proceeded with examining the scene to disclose the circumstances of the incident.

Separately, the Dubai Civil Defence teams put out a fire that broke out in a recycling warehouse in Al Quoz Industrial Area 1.

No casualties have been reported, official source at the Dubai Civil Defence confirmed.

The firefighting teams arrived at the site of the fire in Al Quoz Industrial 1 area within four minutes of receiving a call at 4:17 pm.

The firefighting teams put out the blaze while ensuring the safety of everyone at the site.
