The security forces at the Dubai Police arrested a gang of eight Asians for robbing a massage center located in Al Rifa’a area, Dubai, Colonel Khalifa Khaled Al Awadi, Acting Director of Al Rifa’a Police Station, revealed.

“The operation room received a report from a person, stating that a number of persons assaulted an accountant at a massage center and stole sums of money from him,” he said.

“Immediately, a criminal investigation team was tasked to probe into the crime and examine the scene in order to identify the perpetrators ASAP,” Col. Al Awadi added.

He explained that the team, after intensified search and investigation, was able to arrest the gang.

The gangsters reportedly stole Dhs8,000 and kidnapped 3 girls working for the center. The security team succeeded in recovering the stolen money and freeing the abducted girls.

The suspects had been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action, Al Awadi confirmed.

Al Awadi praised the efficiency of the cops and their efforts, which led to arresting the gang in a record time.

He also called on the public not to hesitate to report any person who tries to assault someone or commits any crime, stressing that Dubai Police will be on the lookout, and will deal firmly with anyone who thinks of tampering with the security of the homeland and the safety of citizens and residents.

In a related context, Al Awadi revealed that the police station recorded 800 criminal reports during the past seven months.

While the alarming reports decreased to 96 reports, the number of cheque reports reached 134, and the number of criminal reports reached 714, according to the station’s statistics for the previous year, he added.
