Up to Dhs1m fine for creation or management of a human trafficking website in UAE

In conjunction with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the UAE Public Prosecution (PP), on Saturday clarified through a post published on its social media accounts, the penalty for the creation or management of a human trafficking website.

The UAE PP pointed out that in accordance with Article 32 of the Federal Decree-Law of 2021 for Combating E-Crimes and Rumours, whoever creates, manages, or oversees a website or publishes information on an information network or a means of information technology for the purpose of a human trafficking or the trade or human organs or the illegitimate dealing therein, shall be sentenced to temporary  imprisonment and/or fined a monetary penalty of not less than Dhs500,000 and not more than Dhs1 million.
