Dubai woman jailed for leaving her newborn baby in hospital and fleeing to home country

The Dubai Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced in absentia an Asian woman to two months in jail on charges of leaving her newborn daughter in a hospital and fleeing to her home country.

The security authorities stated that the suspect gave birth to a girl whose health was poor and consequently was admitted to the  intensive care unit (ICU) for premature babies.

The mother was discharged from the hospital but the baby was still in the ICU.

Three months after the mother was discharged from hospital, she went back to it but did not take the baby.

The police started searching for the fleeing woman who was found that she left the UAE for her home country
