Saudi Traffic authorities announced that a vehicle lost control and went into a mosque, injuring 5 people in Jeddah.

The injured were transferred to the hospital.

The police said a bus driver stormed a mosque in Al-Montazat neighborhood, southeast of Jeddah.

Worshipers in Al-Ammar Mosque No. 165, located southeast of Jeddah, revealed the circumstances of the storming of a vehicle driven by a Nepalese expatriate to the mosque.

The worshipers said, "We felt a strong sound followed by complete darkness due to the dust and. The wall collapsed."

A group of worshipers had left the mosque, while some of them were inside at the time of the accident.

Eyewitness said, "Whoever was outside the mosque returned quickly to find out what happened, so the driver was holding the steering wheel and the car was running, which prompted them to quickly turn off the car and get the driver out."

They continued: "The driver was coming from the southern side of the mosque and was speeding, as he was expected to take the right and turn towards the east of the mosque, in the direction of the road from which he came, but he lost control and settle came straight into the mosque through the walls, injuring five people."

They explained, "At that point, the traffic patrols rushed to the site and the Civil Defense was called, where they seized the driver, while the injured were taken to the hospital.”

The work had begun to rebuild the mosque.
