His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that insight and self-confidence are the keys and pillars of development and access to get the first rank in all.

He added that this is in which the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum believed when he decided to build Port Rashid, which was the embodiment of his insightful vision.

The port contributed to opening new horizons for the prosperity and growth of Dubai, turning it into a major port linking East and West.

Sheikh Mohammed said on Friday in a video clip on his official account on Instagram under the hashtag Flashes Of Leadership, “Port Rashid was great for Dubai’s needs in the past, but my father decided to build a bigger port in Jebel Ali, there was a discrepancy in the movement of ships.

“My father’s friends advised not to implement the project, and they told me to tell him about that.

“We have 30 quays in Port Rashid and other 30 in Jebel Ali. I told him about this, but he did not answer me at the time. On the way back, I was driving and he was with me. He said ‘Dubai needs this project and it will develop in the future.”

Sheikh Rashid had a good vision at that time.

“If you start doubting yourself, you will remain stuck and will not develop.” Sheikh Mohammed added.
