The UAE is getting closer and closer to the immunity it aspires to against COVID-19.

This was revealed during the weekly media briefing on Tuesday on COVID-19 situation in the country.

“With the indicators of the health sector and the numbers we have reached, praise be to God, we are getting closer and closer to the immunity we aspire to until we return to our new normal life,” an official said during the briefing.

“The UAE was able to reach new heights of achievements and gains within a few months, and its position globally shone in many regional and international targets,” the official said.

However, official stressed once again on the importance of obtaining the booster doses of the vaccine according to the protocols approved by the health sector in the country.

“Through our briefing, we confirm that the national system in the country continues to study all possibilities and situations, whether locally or regionally, and accordingly, the decisions of precautionary and preventive measures are applied to ensure the health and safety of society, and visitors coming to the country,” the official said.

During the briefing the health official also stressed on the importance of the societal role in preserving all the gains achieved, with the aim of returning to the gradual opening up of all sectors.

“This requires all of us to abide by the announced decisions and protocols that are in the interest of all,” the media was told.

“We recommend the importance of following all preventive and precautionary measures in order to enhance health protection for all. Physical distancing, wearing a mask, sterilising hands, the places we go to and other measures, is a new way of life that we must get used to,” the official said.
