A sniper cut short the life of a Lebanese mother Maryam Farhat who was waiting for her 5 children to come home during the clashes that rocked Beirut on Thursday.
Local media said the woman was standing in the window to check on her five children who were supposed to come from school at the time of the armed clashes that erupted in the Tayouneh area of Beirut.
The 35-year-old mother was hit by a stray bullet in the head ending her life on the spot, according to Lebanese media.
The sources indicated that Maryam’s eldest daughter's wedding was two days ago.
A prominent media person Raisa Zaidi said, “I remember meeting Maryam Farhat and her adorable children who looked like little ducklings next to her.
“Today the mother of five was one of the people killed by a sniper in Beirut while waiting by her window for one of her ducklings to arrive safely home from school.”
On Thursday, at least 6 people were killed, during armed unrest in Tayouneh, which the authorities described as an attack on demonstrators who were heading to participate in a protest called by Hizbollah and the Amal movement to demand the dismissal of the investigating judge in the Beirut port explosion.
