The governor of the Yemeni city of Aden and a minister in the government survived an assassination attempt after their convoy was targeted by a car bomb in the city of Tawahi.
According to security sources, the explosion that targeted the convoy of Aden Governor Ahmed Lamlas and Minister of Agriculture Salem Al Saqari in the government left five dead and many injured.
Howver, both the officials were not hurt.
Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdul-Malik, called both the leaders separately to inquire about their health.
Both leaders confirmed that they were in good condition and that no harm had affected them.
Prime Minister has tasked the competent authorities to conduct an urgent investigation into the circumstances of the terrorist operation, and to strengthen security vigilance in the country.
