Millions of viewers virtually and from different continents attended the opening ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai, where more than three million people around the world explored the content of the newly developed online interactive platform VirtualExpo.world, and tested it during the first 24 hours of its launch to the world, while the exhibition revealed to the public.

The daily media reported that the number of visitors exceeded 53,000 of different ages and nationalities during the first day.

In order to enhance the experience of Expo 2020 Dubai, and transfer the international event to any device connected to the Internet, anywhere in the world, at any time, the VirtualExpo.world platform provides new ways to explore the first World Expo in the Arab world.

As Dubai takes the world to Expo 2020, the Expo virtual platform is taking Expo 2020 to the world - and while Dubai welcomes 192 participating countries, people in these countries will be able to watch Expo 2020 from all over the world.

Building on the promise made in 2013 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, that Expo 2020 Dubai will offer the most advanced digital experience in the history of World Expos, the Virtual Expo provides an interesting representation of the event.

The platform allows you to explore the pavilions virtually using a laptop, tablet or smartphone, and turns the opening and closing ceremonies into two interactive experiences.

Rehan Asad, CEO of Event Programs at Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “Expo 2020 Dubai offers the most innovative digital, virtual and enhanced experiences, and the concept of virtual visits for the first time at the level of World Expos. We are committed to fulfilling the promise of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid to provide the best virtual Expo experience to millions of people around the world. The global audience who watched the dazzling opening ceremony online last night from all over the world, strongly demonstrates our commitment to achieving this.”
