UAE sees 521 new virus cases, 2 deaths in 24 hours

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) on Thursday announced 521 new coronavirus cases.

The new cases were detected after Ministry  conducted 334,657 additional COVID-19 tests.

The new cases bring the total number of infections in the UAE to 731,828.

All the new tests were conducted using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment, said Ministry in statement.

“All the infected individuals belong to different nationalities and are in a stable condition after receiving the necessary care,” said the Ministry statement.

The total number of deaths in the country rose  to 2,071 after the Ministry announced two new deaths due to COVID-related complications.

The total number of recoveries in the country reached to 723,337after additional 614 individuals fully recovered from COVID-19.

The Ministry also announced that 82,943 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to Friday stands at 19,330,107 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 195.44 doses per 100 people.

Expressing its sincere condolences to the family of the victims, Ministry called upon all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities and adhere to the instructions.
