The ambulance team of the Air Wing Ambulance Division at the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) managed to save the life of a man in a marine facility 40 nautical miles from Jebel Ali Port after the operations room received a report that a man fell and lost consciousness in a marine facility.

An air wing plane carrying the ambulance team rushed to the place where the paramedics began to assess the injured man’s condition, which was described as serious due to a head injury.

The paramedics had to fix the injured man on his back and provide him with all aids necessary to keep his condition stable until reaching the hospital.

In this context, Khalifa Al Darai, DCAS Executive Director, praised the paramedics’ professionalism, which contributed to preserving the injured man’s life, and the way they dealt with the difficult circumstances surrounding him.

He said he was proud of his ambulance team’s ongoing readiness to deal with all circumstances at all times as obvious in this case, which required paramedics to descend four floors through narrow stairs, carrying their medical equipment without hesitation to save a man’s life.

These humanitarian situations that we witness almost daily prompt us to keep devising new ways and tools to add to our ambulance fleet to reach the highest levels of emergency medical services and pre-hospital care and hence participate in disaster and crisis management most efficiently and professionally, he added.

Separately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Dubai Health Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at offering healthcare programmes to Emirati citizens abroad and to the ministry’s staff by providing tele-consultations as part of the authority’s Doctor for Every Citizen service.

The MoU was signed in Dubai by Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the Ministry, and Awadh Sagheer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Authority, in the presence of officials from both sides, including Dr. Manal Taryam, Executive Director of the Primary Healthcare Sector at the Authority, and Faisal Lutfi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry.

During the signing, Belhoul thanked the authority for its cooperation, which benefits UAE citizens abroad, noting that the MoU’s signing highlights the keenness of government authorities to support Emiratis, both inside and outside the country, in line with UAE Government policies.

Al Ketbi stressed the authority’s appreciation for the agreement and its keenness to reinforce its partnership with the ministry.
