UAE’s prestigious Emirates Airline said that all travellers with short stay, long stay visa, visit visa or visa on arrival can now travel to Dubai from countries where travel restrictions were imposed previously due to the emergence of the COVID-19 variants.

The airline’s customer support responded to a query by a traveller.

S. Merchant asked Emirates, “Sad to see the EK-Male office disregarding UAE's rule to allow Indian tourists enter Dubai!

“Tourists with a valid visa are not allowed to board the flight even after meeting all the criteria. @emirates  please take action!”

The airline responded, Hi, it's likely that at the time of your contact with our local office, we haven't received the official update.

“We just did. All passengers holding short stay/long stay visa, visit visa or visa on arrival can now travel to Dubai. We'll post details on our website soon.”

Emirates also said that e-visa holders can also enter UAE, without the need for GDRFA Dubai approval.

A UAE e-Visa is a single entry visa that allows a stay up to 30 days in total.

A traveller, Muhammad Khalid Awan asked, “@EmiratesSupport any news when will you update your guidelines in the light of new announcements regarding relaxation of travel restrictions.

"I have an e-visa expiring on 09-09-2021. I am from Pakistan. Any luck?”

Emirates Support said, “Hi Muhammad, entry permit holders can now travel to Dubai from Pakistan. You won't need a GDRFA approval. Please continue to monitor our website. We'll post the details shortly.”

It was learnt with the latest update that newly issued visit visa holders are allowed to enter Dubai, without any GDRFA or ICA approval.

However, the authorities have urged travellers to check the latest travel requirements to come to UAE from their destination as per COVID-19 protocols.
